tested C/L/C - Reply

HELLO MY FRIEND!

I have build and tested the compressor/limiter/clipper in my LPFM TX it produces high quality audio same as the neighboring professional station has. i,m so very amazed with this simple circuitry. thanks

BF245 - Reply

Hello, sorry for so many questions. Mount the circuit and runs excellent. Use BF245A instead of BF245C, my question is whether there is any difference in operation?. Thank you

Re: BF245 - Reply

there is no difference in operation. the difference between the 245A and 245C are in their gate source voltage and drain current but the good news is both of them works properly i tried it too but insuring that u use a pair of 245a in stereo version. cause the 245A and 245C they are different in static characteristics.

Suggestion - Reply

Hello Jan. If I let a suggestion, if the capacitor C13 does not download entire circuit works much better, that is charged with keeping a little tension. To this I capacitor constant tension of about 2 volts. This is accomplished in fast audio peaks not notice the action limiter. I hope it will serve, excuse my English. Thank you

Re: Suggestion - Reply

I can't agree. Removing the C13 the attack time will be better but total audio distortion will be unacceptable. The limiter is designed for minimum distortion and minimum audio quality affecting. Short peaks during attack time are not a problem since are fully eliminated by the clipper.

question on sound - Reply

Hello Jan. My team works very well, but has few serious. In order to increase the bass, components that have to change the filter because the sound lacks a little serious. Thank you and excuse my English

big capacitors output and input stereo-encoder - Reply

Hello,

Can you tell me why the output capacitor is so big? (220uf) even at the input from the stereo-encoder (pic18F1220) are big capacitors 220uf.... I think 10uf or max. 47uf is maybe better for the audio frequentie range?Maybe we can remove c22 and 23 in the stereo-encoder when use it together with this limiter/clipper?

Re: big capacitors output and input stereo-encoder - Reply

This capacitor is fully allright. Remember the key fact that after clipper the low cut-off frequency must be about 2 Hz to eliminate overshoots. Although the original sound is from 20 Hz or more. Many similar devices does not respect this rule and these can not be marked as real broadcast equipment.

PCB-s - Reply

Jan are you planing in the near future offer at least pcb-s for your compressor/cliper and stereo coder,I think that there are lot's of other transmitter diyers who agree with me

TLC 242 - Reply

Hello Jan,
Do you have data sheet of TLC 242.
so i can find replacement.

Thanks

Re: TLC 242 - Reply

The datasheet (TLC272) is placed in datasheet section on the main page. Almost any opamp can be used in the limiter (slew rate should be higher than 2 V/us). Direct replacement is TS272.
For the stereo encoder only the TLC272 and TS272 can be used, since the feature "OUTPUT VOLTAGE CAN SWING TO GROUND" is important.

output level query - Reply

I want to know if this device in its output always maintains a constant level independent of the audio input level ... thanks

Compressor/limiter/clipper - stereo version Left channel quieter - Reply

Hi Jan!
I was building the stereo limiter shematic and I experienced that the left channel sounds more silently, than the right after I connections it two FET transistor Q2!
My question it why this is. I saw it,that into some it is necessary to choose the transistors. May this solve the problem possibly?
Thank you for your answer ahead: Robert!

It seems you can read. So you should be able to find this information in the text. It's similar as: "My car runs only downhill. I saw it is necessary to fuel up. May this solve the problem possibly?"

Question Jan Kolar - Reply

What do you think, ah I would have got a unambiguous answer for my question I would have put it up? Keeping exchanging FET, the BC557 keeping exchanging him, his selecting burn big nonsense. Otherwise because of that bosh, because for what to connect the two connections. If the two modules are going separately on alike volume they sound. The mono is not with modules trouble like this. For what is made to need that's it 5M trimmert to omit from the right side?

But I will solve it alone, because the I look up his pair party (BF245, BC557) not really plain solution according to me.

Don't watch the sarcasm... It does say in the text that you should attempt to find two transistors with comparable values, read it again mate. If you select two similar transistors from a handful then the sound levels should be closer mathed. good luck

Hi,
I found TLC272CD and TLC272CP ..
What to order and Which one is better ?

CP is DIP, CD is another package, probably SMD.
